The proceeds from the sale of the books goes fully into Janma. The Swiss photographer Rob Lewis and project manager and writer Rob Loepfe support since 2011 the foundation Nicole Niquille through the label JETHA MAILA, which produced already two books. With PASANG the third piece of work of JETHA MAILA is now published. After the second journey to Lukla, Rolf Loepfe and Rob Lewis founded the sponsorship project Janma - Children's Education Fund Nepal - Pasang Lhamu Nicole Niquille Hospital Lukla (www.janma.org). The project guarantees each child born in the hospital in Lukla a godparenthood, which covers the school fees. In turn, this leads to the reduction of maternal and infant mortality in Nepal, which is still considerable. The large-size illustrated book includes photographs from Kathmandu and Lukla as well as 20 portraits of four to five year old pupils from the Lukla primary school. Apart from a textual introduction to Nepal, Buddhism and Hinduism, the book contains the powerfully eloquent endless-poem «Pasang»of Rolf Lopefe. Citations of it accompany the photographs made by Rob Lewis.
