Janma Day 26

Janma Day 2026

On April 17, 2026, we celebrated the ninth Janma Day.

This year, 307 children were eligible for their annual sponsorship payment, and 217 of them came directly to the PLNN Hospital to celebrate the day together with us. Current photos of the sponsored children are now available in the personal login area.

Rob, co-founder of Janma, was on site this year together with his partner Sophia – to document the day, but above all to get a sense of where the project stands today. Because it's important to meet the people, to talk with them, and to experience firsthand how Janma is developing.

"I didn't expect this day to touch me so deeply. Children we know from previous years suddenly stand before us as teenagers – with dreams, with plans, with a dignity that leaves you speechless. Our daughters Josephine and Maria were there too, and I believe they took something away with them that can't be put into words." — Sophia

Nepali national television was also on site and produced a 20-minute feature about Janma Day and the PLNN Hospital. [Link to film] Rob also captured some moments of the day with his camera – you can find a short glimpse here. Link to film

At the same time, we must regretfully share that one of our sponsored children passed away after a serious illness in a hospital in Kathmandu. Our thoughts are with the family.

Our heartfelt thanks go to Kazi Sherpa, CEO of PLNN Hospital, who always thinks two steps ahead and impresses us every time with his hospitality – as well as to Pasang Lhamu and the entire team on site.

To you, dear sponsors: thank you for your trust. Next year, the first sponsored children will receive their tenth and final payment – another milestone on our shared journey.
